The weather here in Salento is very Irish. It’s wet and cold. Even more than Guatapé. It gives me a feeling for what tourists have to go through in Ireland. On the walk back from the coffee plantation, the heavens opened. And I didn’t have an umbrella, because I’d left it in a restaurant (I got it back afterwards). So I got soaked. And I have only got one set of warm clothes. The one pair of jeans, one sweatshirt and jacket. So I’m here in the room trying to dry them for the afternoon. I’ve had to put the damp sweatshirt back on to try to accelerate the process.
I’m going to move on tomorrow. I was going to go to Calí next, but now I think I might go into Armenia tomorrow, and then take an overnight bus through Calí to Popayan. That way I can come back up and visit Calí, and then fly from there through Bogotá, and back to Cartagena.
